Blog: Leeds United have cast-iron interest in Lewis Pirie to skate past Brexit issues – MOT Leeds News

Leeds United now hold a cast-iron interest in Aberdeen sensation Lewis Pirie, according to Aberdeen Live.

The online outlet has reported on its website that the Whites, as well as Fulham, have both recently scouted the attacking starlet as he starred for Scotland under-16s.

Pirie grabbed a goal and was involved in winning a penalty against Denmark, with Premier League clubs now looking at Scotland’s best talent more often.

It is shared that Brexit issues have now made bringing in talent from Europe even harder for those in the Premier League as they look to bring in those younger sensations.

Leeds are no stranger to that and have raided the likes of Celtic in recent years, with Leo Hjelde one of the latest examples to come down and succeed after time in Scotland.

Pirie is said to fit the bill of young players wanted at Pittodrie, although this interest is said to make it harder for Jim Goodwin to hand out his breakthrough in the first team in years to come.

Smart.

Victor Orta and his team really do leave no stone unturned.

The one big issue that has been raised over the summer though, is the actual ability to get the deal over the line after putting in all the hard work beforehand.

We saw it with Charles De Ketelaere and Cody Gakpo, these world-class talents were being identified, but as soon as it came down to business, a move didn’t materialise.

If you add the likes of Rodrigo De Paul and Josko Gvardiol, and there will nearly be a full team out there.

If Pirie was to make a decision between the likes of Fulham and Leeds though, there is one clear winner with the Whites having that clear pathway to Premier League football for everyone.

This is certainly one to watch over the coming months with scouts from Elland Road already taking in the action, and with a first professional deal nearing, Pirie certainly has a decision to make.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have said see you again to one attacker after being left baffled by a deadline day agreement
