Blog: Brexit has grown sectarian: it’s time for peace – The Times

There is an irony in bitter arguments over Brexit becoming so sectarian that the debate increasingly resembles old politics in Northern Ireland. Not only is the main sticking point in Britain’s relationship with the European Union the Northern Ireland protocol, which gives Brussels oversight of trading relations with that part of the United Kingdom. The two sides in the Brexit wars, which rumble on, increasingly resemble the hardest hardliners on either side in Northern Ireland.
