Sir, William Hague’s article should be required reading for all interested in the UK-EU relationship (“Forget the Swiss, just show us Brexit benefits”, Nov 22). No one, not even the Swiss, wants what they have now. But he is less than fair in two respects. First, we are not even halfway there. After the Brexit vote the government should have identified those aspects of EU law worth retaining, amending or revoking. Instead, the 2018 European Union (Withdrawal) Act merely confirmed business as usual. We have had to wait till now for this exercise.
