Delays and cancellations have become a common sight at UK airports this summer, with airlines announcing further cuts to flights this week. Brexit has been blamed for much of the chaos, with Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary warning turmoil at airports will continue “right throughout the summer” due to Brexit-related staff shortages, as well as “Government mismanagement” and a sluggish recovery from Covid. Airport bosses asked airlines to cancel flights to and from one of Europe’s busiest airports amid staff shortages. Sharing the footage on social media, Bruges Group mocked: “Chaos at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. Must be down to Brexit!”
