Blog: Life sciences could be the post-Brexit prize we’ve been waiting for – The Times

The phrase “opportunities of Brexit” is one that Boris Johnson is fond of. It’s fair to say that this has been met with some scepticism — when I was in No 10 this phrase was most likely to be met by a knowing smile, recognising that this was a buzzword with little substance.

But having watched the vaccine rollout across Europe, even the staunchest Remainer has been forced to concede there might be something to this after all.

In a post-pandemic, post-Brexit world, life sciences presents huge potential for the UK to re-establish itself as a global leader, and it is up to the government to seize this opportunity.

What does “opportunities of Brexit” actually mean and what should Boris do? The answer is simple.
