Blog: Large container could be placed near station due to Brexit and Covid uncertainty – Warrington Guardian

A LARGE container could be put on spare land next to Sankey Station.

A businessman wants to add the container to hold stock due to the uncertainty around Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic.

New plans submitted to Warrington Borough Council are to place the container on land off Station Road which previously had a large portable unit on it.

This was pulled down due to poor condition, but a replacement is now needed, planning documents state.

Warrington Guardian:

The proposed container

They add: “The reason for the request to site a container is due to the up and coming Brexit situation and current Covid 19 epidemic.

“I own two businesses in the Warrington area and to maintain continuity of employment for my staff I have had to order large amounts of stock.

“I currently pay for this stock to be held in temporary storage which is expensive.

“The proposed container will be accessed on an ad hoc basis possibly twice a week by a transit type vehicle therefore minimum vehicular traffic.”
